Citizen Crime Watch Patrol

Port Moody Police Department (PMPD) has a community volunteer program called "Crime Watch." This program focuses on crime prevention and crime reduction in our community through the use of trained volunteers who actively patrol Port Moody’s business, school and residential areas, acting as "eyes and ears" for PMPD.

Because of the nature of the training and close working relationship with PMPD, once an application is received, a background investigational check is carried out by the PMPD Community Relations Officer.

Persons interested in this program must be at least 19 years of age, have a valid B.C. Driver’s license and have access to a vehicle. Shifts are conducted in the late evening and early morning hours. Training required for this patrol work is conducted "on the job" by experienced members of the Crime Watch program. The safety of the volunteers involved in this program is of paramount importance to the Crime Watch Program and PMPD.

If you are interested in assisting with this valuable crime prevention program in Port Moody, please contact the PMPD Community Relations Officer at 604-461-3456.
