Salary
Our salary and benefits package is one of the most generous for policing in Canada. The pension benefits also rank among the top for both the government and private sector in terms of the monthly take-home pay and the age (50 years) at which you can retire.
Recruit police officers receive probationary constable’s pay starting from the date of hiring and inclusive of the time spent in the Police Academy. Pay increments occur annually until year four where First Class status is reached. Salary increases also take place at 10, 15 and 20 years of service, upon successfully completing the requirements as set out by the increment standards.
