Volunteers
We are not recruiting volunteers for any of our programs at this time.
Please check back on our website or social media accounts at a later date to see if we are recruiting.
Port Moody has three volunteer programs and recruit on an irregular schedule, based on the needs of the department. All volunteers must be at least 19 years of age, possess a valid Class 5 drivers licence and must be able to pass & maintain a security clearance.
Crime Prevention Volunteers
Our crime prevention volunteers conduct crime watch patrols of the community on foot, bicycle and in a vehicle. Their mandate is to deter, observe, record and report crime. They also participate in various crime prevention initiatives, road safety initiatives and other community events.
Victim Services Volunteers
These highly trained volunteers assist victims of crime & trauma by providing them with information, support, resources and referrals. If you are seeking victim services resources, please visit our Victim Services web page for more information.
Reserve Constables
These volunteers are peace officers who receive rigorous training and assist our officers at various community events and with other crime prevention & safety initiatives. Occasionally, Reserve Constables will also ride along with our patrol officers to get a first-hand understanding of policing.
