On February 16, 2025, at around 5:45 a.m., Emergency Health Services requested Port Moody Police attend the parking lot of the Port Moody Rec Complex for a report of a person in medical distress. Despite lifesaving efforts from firefighters and paramedics, the male was pronounced deceased at scene.
Port Moody Police responded to an unusual burglary early Wednesday morning.
On January 29, 2025, at about 3:45 a.m., the sole occupant of a home called police after hearing someone inside of his Glenayre area house. The caller barricaded himself in a room and awaited police arrival. As police were responding, the intruder reportedly began to scream and cause a disturbance while inside of the residence.
On January 22, 2025 at about 5:45 p.m., staff at a liquor store in Port Moody’s Inlet Centre area called police after observing two young men reportedly steal liquor product then assault a citizen who tried to intervene.
On January 14, 2025 just after 8:30 p.m., the Port Moody Police Department received a number of 9-1-1 calls from Eagle Ridge Hospital. Callers reported a man waving a machete in a threatening manner and causing a disturbance inside the hospital’s emergency room, triggering a ‘code silver’ at the facility.
Port Moody Police are investigating telephone wire thefts in the old Ioco area of Port Moody.
On January 13, 2025 at around 4 a.m., Port Moody Police frontline officers were called to the area of Ioco Road and First Avenue for a report of cable theft from a telephone pole. Two persons of interest have been identified and the matter remains under investigation.
Over the past several months, Port Moody Police have received numerous reports of a man allegedly harassing women in the Moody Centre area of the city and multiple investigations were opened.
