Port Moody Police continue to remove vehicles from the road throughout high-risk driving month. Below are a few recent incidents of note:
UPDATE: In the afternoon hours of Monday, May 19, Port Moody Police frontline officers – along with Burnaby RCMP & other Lower Mainland Integrated Units – conducted a high-risk arrest of the suspect in the City of Burnaby.
The suspect has since been released, and the matter remains under investigation at this time.

Police are requesting the public’s help in identifying a suspect in a theft of a youth’s backpack.
On Saturday May 10, 2025, the Port Moody Police Department received a report of a theft of a backpack which took place around 6:20 p.m. A youth who was playing basketball at a school in the Heritage Woods area had put his backpack down for a short period of time, then discovered the bag was missing soon after.

May is high-risk driving month and police are reminding motorists to take extra caution while out on our roadways. Here are a few incidents of note in Port Moody over the past several days:
FILE: 2025-1710 – On Saturday, April 26, 2025, just before 6 p.m., Port Moody Police frontline officers were called to the 3000 block of Murray Street for a report of a stabbing. Upon attendance, officers located a male youth with non-life-threatening injuries. He was transported to hospital, treated, and later released.
